BlueView ProViewer |
 |
The LBV can be fitted with the BlueView Technologies ProViewer multi-beam high definition sonar. Fast scan rates and high resolution provide a clear sonar image in black water conditions.
Use of a BlueView sonar adds capability to the LBV by providing a clear sonar image in difficult conditions. Not only does the BlueView provide an image in black water conditions, but also in unstable conditions. With the fast scan rate the BlueView is able to provide a clear picture even when the LBV is moving. The ProViewer is also useful if the application requires tracking or locating moving objects.
BlueView offers various models:
- ProViewer P450E-15 - 450KHz
- ProViewer P900E-45 - 900KHz (shown on LBV above)
- ProViewer P900E-90 - 900KHz (90º)
- ProViewer P900E-130 - 900KHz (130º)
- ProViewer DF900/2250 - 900KHz/2.25MHz (shown below)
Each model can be fitted to the LBV. Unlike other small ROVs the LBV has enough mass and power to provide a stable platform.
The different models offer different benefits to the operator. When the requirement is for long distance image capture the P450E is the ideal choice with a long range of 137 meters (450ft). Use of the P900E adds a higher degree of resolution and a shorter range 55 meters (180ft). The newest addition to the BlueView range is the dual frequency DF900/2250 that offers the range capability of the P900E, but also a close up ultra high resolution 2.25MHz ID image.
Fitting either ProViewer to the LBV is simple with LBV's tool skid. The sonar is mounted into the skid and housed in a rugged transit case. When needed the sonar can be attached with a few screws and connected, this process only takes a few minutes.
As shown the ProViewer can be mounted to the LBV300-5 in crawler mode. When being used on a ship hull in crawler mode the stable image is incomparable to any other small ROV platform.
At the surface the operator or navigator is able to view the ProViewer image on a PC compatible computer or the Integrated Navigation Control Console (INC).
